Hypocalcemia Decision Tree

Hypocalcaemia is one of the common clinical metabolic problems and a laboratory abnormality in neonates. Hypocalcaemia in preterm neonates is defined as ionic serum calcium (ISC) < 1mmol/L or total serum calcium (TSC) < 1.75 mmol/L. In full term neonates, hypocalcaemia is defined as ISC < 1.2mmol/L or TSC< 2 mmol/L.
